Profile

As the Student Advocate, I assist students with problems or issues the encounter on campus. I am an impartial, objective, and confidential party that works to achieve a fair resolution of disputes and work to protect students’ rights. In addition, I connect students with both on and off-campus resources. I am also beginning to get involved in diversity and multicultural student issues at IUPUI, a strong passion of mine. I am interested in research on racial/ethnic identity issues, particularly in biracial/multiracial individuals.

Why I come to the Multicultural Center

The Multicultural Center has been a long time coming at IUPUI.  I am thrilled that students, faculty, and staff from traditionally marginalized groups now have a place in which they can feel welcome.  I know so many of the students and staff at the MCC that I almost feel like I work there myself.  I’m also the staff advisor for Asian Students United, so I’m so happy that my student organization and similar student organizations have a place in which they can have an office space.  I often see students there from all kinds of different backgrounds, just hanging out in fellowship with one another.  I’m excited to see what the future holds for the MCC, and I hope to be as involved as possible in that future!

Inclusive Excellence in Action The IUPUI Multicultural Center seeks to engage students and the IUPUI community in proactive dialogue around issues of diversity and multiculturalism, including the community voice through service and outreach, articulate and address the needs of students, faculty and staff across lines of color, gender, ethnicity, ability and orientation.
